Frequently asked questions
What is CareerThread?
CareerThread is a private, long-term record of your working life: every role, recruiter, organisation, application, interview and offer, connected so you can see what happened last time. It isn't a job board, a CV writer or a social network.
How do I get my career history in?
Start with your CV: it builds the spine of your history. After that you can save roles as you come across them by sharing a job page to CareerThread from your browser or another app, and add recruiters, organisations and applications as you go. LinkedIn can add context later; its data export can take a while to arrive, so there's no hurry.
Where is my data kept?
On your iPhone. CareerThread has no account and no analytics. The only thing the app itself sends over the network is the job page you share: it fetches that one page, from the site you shared it from, to read the role. Your CV and everything else is read and kept on your device. iCloud sync isn't available yet.
How do I get my data out?
Use Export in the app's Settings. It gives you a ZIP of everything, including your documents, and it stays on your iPhone unless you choose to save or share it.
Is my data private?
Nothing is sold or shared for marketing. See the privacy policy for details.
How do I contact support?
